The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales will hold its northern and southern annual charity conferences in November.

- The events take place in the Riverbank Park Plaza in London on 10 November and the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds on 13 November. - A seminar looking at the challenges facing faith-based charities is being run by social banking specialist Triodos Bank, in partnership with law firm Jordans and accountancy firm Burton Sweet. - The Charity Finance Directors' Group has broadly welcomed HM Revenue & Customs plans to simplify the VAT partial exemption and capital goods scheme rules. HMRC said charities would benefit by having to make few calculations.
