Money matters: Social enterprise blogs; the Sorp and capacity-building in Scotland

David Ainsworth's round-up of what's happening in the finance world

UnLtd World, the networking website for social entrepreneurs, will host a guest blog from a figure in the world of social enterprise every day until the end of November. Among the organisations that will be represented are the British Library, One Water and Divine Chocolate.

A half-day conference on the future of the Statement of Recommended Practice for charity accounting will take place on 4 December in London. The conference will produce evidence based on the 700 responses to research carried out by the Sorp Committee and the Scottish and English charity regulators, and on meetings carried out this year.

Applications to a fund to support organisations that build capacity and sustainability in Scotland will close on 13 November. The Scottish Government's £12m Enterprise Fund has already received 300 applications, of which 87 have been successful. The government said that half the fund had been paid out.
