Movers: David Mepham, director of policy, Save the Children

David Mepham will take up the role of director of policy at Save the Children from September.

He is currently associate director and head of the international programme at the Institute for Public Policy Research, where he has written extensively on development, human rights and political reform in Africa, the Middle East and China.

He was previously special adviser at the Department for International Development between 1998 and 2002.

Jasmine Whitbread, chief executive of Save the Children, said: "David has the creative vision and inspiring ambition to help us deliver major breakthroughs for children."
