Movers: the latest board appointments

Homeless Link, the Mental Health Providers Forum, the Archway Project, ActionAid and more

Homelessness charity Homeless Link has appointed Ann Skinner as its new chair. Skinner works in the social care and partnerships team at the Department of Health.  

Marcus Agius, group chairman of Barclays and a senior independent director on the executive board of the BBC, has been appointed as chair of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

Professor Carolyn Steele has been appointed chair of Mental Health Providers Forum, the representative body for voluntary sector mental health organisations. Steele was most recently director for third sector partnerships at the Department of Health.

Fran Gorman has been appointed chair of the Archway Project, a charity that works with disadvantaged young people in London. Gorman is head of public relations at the Mental Health Foundation. She replaces Martin Jenkins, who was in the role for two years.

Simon Hepburn, chief executive of the Advisory Centre for Education, and Srabani Sen, chief executive of Contact a Family, have joined the board of chief executives body Acevo.

Andrew Purkis is the new chair of ActionAid. Purkis, who is a Charity Commission board member, is a former chief executive of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund and senior adviser to the Archbishop of Canterbury.
