Music of the people

Kids' Club Network in partnership with Youth Music launched Come and Play on 5 March at the Ministry of Sound nightclub in London. The scheme aims to encourage children to pick up an instrument and play. They will be given the chance to learn how to read and write music as well as creating different musical styles. They will also have the opportunity to play with some of the country's top musicians. The programme will take place in 70 selected clubs across the country. Channel 5 presenter Naomi Wilkinson, minister for the arts Baroness Blackstone and Jazz saxophonist Leo Green, who has worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Robbie Williams and Coldplay, were all at the launch.
