Natasha Kaplinsky supports Save the Children

- The newsreader and presenter Natasha Kaplinsky lent a hand at her local Save the Children charity shop on 23 November. The occasion was a Lloyds Banking Group 'takeover day', in which more than 500 employees of the banking group took over 100 Save the Children shops in the UK. Kaplinsky, who is a Save the Children ambassador, operated the till and helped to tidy shelves at the store in Parsons Green, west London. Save the Children is the Lloyds charity of the year for 2012.

- The singer Mollie King from the band The Saturdays will be the face of National Heart Month, which is run by the British Heart Foundation and will take place in February. The charity will be asking people to pay £2 each to wear something red for the day as part of its Rock Up in Red event on 1 February - it is one of the main events of the month.

-The singer Annie Lennox has featured in a short documentary film about the music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins, released to promote the charity's Christmas appeal. Lennox is a long-standing supporter of the charity.

- The actor Phyllis Logan, who plays Mrs Hughes in the television drama Downton Abbey, launched Dementia UK's Time for a Cuppa campaign. The event, to take place between 1 and 8 March, encourages people to hold tea parties to raise funds. "My family has been affected by dementia and I know that many people are going through similar experiences," said Logan.

Beth Tweddle- The gymnast Beth Tweddle (right) opened the Royal British Legion's Battle Back Centre in Lilleshall, Shropshire, last month. The facility, which is located at the National Sports Centre, will provide sport and adventure activities for wounded, injured and sick services personnel.

- The television presenter Sally Magnusson will host the Light Up a Life Carol Concert in aid of the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow on 9 December. The event, which will take place at St Andrew's Cathedral in Glasgow, aims to raise more than £3,000.
