The Big Lottery Fund has awarded £843,000 to the NCVO to run its Sustainable Funding Project for another three years.

The project is intended to help organisations understand funding opportunities, such as contract income, loan finance and earned income, through case studies, workshops and regular updates.

It will work with six infrastructure organisations, known as sustainable funding beacons, which will add skills and expertise at a local level.

Leesa Herbert, head of sustainable funding at the NCVO, said: "As the impact of the recession bites and cuts in public spending emerge, the skills and experience developed by the sustainable funding team over the past 10 years will be needed more than ever."
