National Council for Voluntary Organisations to take over KnowHow NonProfit

Staff at the charity advice service will join the NCVO's communications and information team

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations will take over the charity advice service KnowHow NonProfit, it announced today.

The online project, currently part of City University London, allows users to access advice on all aspects of working in the charity sector. It was set up with funding from the Big Lottery Fund and developed in partnership with the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at the university’s Cass Business School.

The five KnowHow NonProfit staff will become part of the NCVO communications and information team later this year, but will retain close links with Cass, the NCVO said in a statement.

The statement said the NCVO planned to expand the site and increase the level of resources available to the sector online.

"We have been working closely with KnowHow NonProfit for some time," said Sir Stuart Etherington, chief executive of the NCVO. "This collaboration has huge potential and will bring together a wealth of experience and resources for helping civil society organisations to develop and flourish."
