The trust, which launched the scheme yesterday, hopes it will raise £500,000 over three years and secure 10 partners in its first year. The John Lewis Partnership has already signed up.
Bernadette O'Sullivan, head of business development, said the scheme was designed to encourage companies to eventually become major corporate sponsors.
"We know there is a market for the scheme," she said. "Many companies are not able to support us straight away through high-level sponsorship programmes, so we are offering them an alternative."
