NCVO confirms 14 redundancies

Umbrella body the NCVO has said that it will make 14 staff redundant.

Five staff from the enterprise department, eight from services and development and one from the chief executive's office are to go after a period of consultation that ended in March.

The NCVO also outlined plans to outsource production of its members magazine Voluntary Sector (Third Sector, 12 March). The magazine's three staff are among those being made redundant.

Last month, the NCVO announced that it was to make up to 21 staff redundant because of the restructuring of the ChangeUp scheme (Third Sector Online, 8 February). The NCVO ran four of the six hubs of expertise that will be replaced by nine national support services. It will be involved in several of the new services, but will receive less funding.
