NCVO hands former Amnesty manager campaigning post

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) has appointed a new head of campaigns. Chris Stalker joins the NCVO from Amnesty International where he was campaigns programme manager.

He has gained most of his experience from working on international projects.

"I'm looking forward to applying the strategy and approach I've learned by working on campaigns such as international debt relief and land mines,

he said.

Stalker has valuable experience of high-impact campaigning from a spell at Oxfam where held the post of communications officer.

At the NCVO, he will also be responsible for external relations, ensuring that the voluntary sector is well represented in the media, and politically in Brussels and Westminster.

He will manage the organisation's parliamentary office, the European and international office and the press office. "I'll be working hard on the public perception of the NCVO," he said.
