The Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition has launched a manifesto for social enterprise in Scotland.

The manifesto, In Business To Change Lives, has been released in advance of the Scottish parliamentary elections in May. It calls on political parties north of the border to promote community benefit clauses in public sector procurement contracts, to promote a new culture of investment in social enterprise and to support community ownership of assets and land.

Antonia Swinson, chief executive of the coalition, said: "This is an exciting time for social enterprise in Scotland. We’re calling on all parties to get behind the social enterprise movement to ensure these dynamic and innovative businesses continue to grow and develop."
