The Institute for Philanthropy has launched a training programme for young inheritors on effective grant-making. Participants will be young adults whose families have grant-making trusts or whose family businesses have corporate giving schemes.

Macmillan Cancer Support has revealed that one in four supporters who donated by SMS text message in response to a fundraising campaign last year went on to complete a WAP or SMS Gift Aid declaration. The charity also found that 59 per cent of donations came by text message.

The Adventure Capital Fund
is holding a Dragon's Den-style contest for charities attending the Delivering4Community conference in London on 13 February. The prize will be £15,000 worth of investment and six days of mentoring from the fund.
