Third Sector is launching an annual survey to uncover the most important issues affecting charities and their staff. The State of the Third Sector 2007, conducted by nfpSynergy, offers anybody in the sector, whatever their job, a chance to share their views. See www.thirdsector.co.uk.

Charity Trustee Networks has launched a benefits scheme that offers members basic trustee liability insurance and discounted entry to governance conferences and events. The scheme, Trusteenet Plus, is open to all charity trustees for a fee of £40 a year.

Geraldine Peacock, the former chair of the Charity Commission, has become a patron of the Rainbow Trust, the charity for seriously ill children and their families.
