North Warks CVS votes for merger

North Warwickshire Council for Voluntary Service has belatedly voted to join a merger of infrastructure organisations in the county.

The CVS delayed joining Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action when it was formed through the merger of four organisations in the county earlier this year because it needed to balance its books.

Trustees have now voted in favour of joining Warwickshire Cava, which is made up of Rugby Council for Voluntary Service, Nuneaton and Bedworth CVS, Warwick District CVS and Rugby Volunteer Centre.

It is not yet known when North Warwickshire will join Cava, but it is likely to be in April 2009.

Stratford CVS pulled out of the merger because it believed the finances of the new organisation did not stack up (2 April, page 4).
