ChildLine founder Esther Rantzen, flanked by Arsenal players, announces Arsenal FC's choice of ChildLine as its first-ever Charity of the Season. The partnership is designed to target young boys, who represent only a quarter of all callers to the helpline, through a presence on the Arsenal Junior Gunners website pages, and features in match-day programmes. Match-day fundraising events and dinners are also planned, and the ChildLine telephone number will be shown on the stadium scoreboard. The charity plans to capitalise on the players' status as role models for young boys, hoping that their endorsement of the helpline will encourage young fans to consider using it. It aims to let them know that the helpline is not just about talking about their feelings, but also about finding solutions to problems.
