The deadline to take part in the annual workplace satisfaction survey carried out by Third Sector with Birdsong Charity Consulting has been extended for a week.

Voluntary sector workers now have until 20 April to take part in Charity Pulse, which asks sector staff about their workplaces, leaders and career prospects. Last year, more than 700 employees from about 150 charities took part in the survey, which takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Charities can use results from the survey, now in its sixth year, to benchmark their performance in the sector.

The preliminary results from this year's survey indicate that morale is lower than in previous surveys. Half the participants so far say their pay has been frozen.

Respondents can choose to be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a coaching session with Birdsong, or complete the survey anonymously.
