OTS to host bidding seminar on £1bn Future Jobs Fund

Guidance for charities on DWP scheme to create 150,000 jobs for unemployed young people

The Office of the Third Sector is hosting a seminar for voluntary organisations interested in bidding for money from the £1bn Future Jobs Fund.

The seminar, to be held in central London on 2 June, will provide advice and guidance about the bidding process and information about other support.

The Department for Work and Pensions fund, announced in the Budget, has been set up to create 150,000 new jobs for young people who have been unemployed for a year.

Charities are among the organisations that can bid for funding of £6,500 per job, which can be supplemented from other sources.

Bids submitted by 30 June will be considered for the first round of allocations, which will support the creation of jobs by October or earlier.

The seminar is being organised with the Third Sector Future Jobs Fund Taskforce, set up by chief executives body Acevo.
