Ozzy adds own brand of spice to wristband trade

Ozzy Osbourne has designed his own wristband as part of a project to make and sell 'merchandise with a meaning' for charity.

Osbourne's design includes the slogan: "In God we trust. Everyone else pays cash. Wank for peace."

The 21st Century Leaders project has gathered artwork from more than 200 celebrities, which it will then sell to raise funds for each one's chosen cause.

When asked to explain why he picked the slogan, Ozzy said: "Because I'd rather have a wank than a bullet."

He said that he and wife Sharon were fed up with "boring charity campaigns" and wanted to "have a laugh". Profits will be donated to Save the Children and the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Programme.

A spokesman for Save the Children said: "We were completely unaware of this. It's not our first choice of slogan, but you have to see the funny side."

21st Century Leaders is a trading subsidiary of the Trade plus Aid charitable trust, which donates funds to projects that alleviate poverty in the developing world.
