Penny Woods joins the British Lung Foundation

Plus Derek Caren, Nick Acland, Simon Malcolm, Jacqueline Bell and Sarah Mallender

Penny Woods has been appointed the new chief executive of the British Lung Foundation. She is currently chief executive of the Picker Institute Europe, and will take up the new role in September.

Derek Caren will join Richmond Fellowship, which works with people with mental health problems, as chief executive. He leaves Riverside English Churches Housing Group, where he is managing director.Simon Malcolm

Nick Acland has been appointed as director of the grant-maker the Henry Smith Charity. He has run his own manufacturing business for the past 10 years.

The Woodland Trust has made Simon Malcolm (right) its new director of communications and engagement. He joins from Guide Dogs.

The learning disability charity Association for Real Change has appointed Jacqueline Bell as chief executive. She was formerly chief executive of Cardiff Third Sector Council.

Sarah MallenderSova, which provides support for ex-offenders, has named Sarah Mallender (left) as interim chief executive. She was previously the charity's director of services and markets.
