People's Millions applications go online

Charities will can now apply entirely online for the Big Lottery Fund's People's Millions scheme, which allows ITV viewers to vote on which organisations receive a grant.

Shortlisted applicants are featured on a TV show, which invites viewers to vote for the charity projects in their region that they want to receive funding. This year 90 awards are on offer of up to £80,000 plus VAT.

The organisers are looking for projects that help people use, enjoy or transform their local environments.

Applicants can apply via the Big Lottery Fund or ITV websites. The deadline is 17 May. Projects selected as finalists will be showcased on regional ITV news in late November.
