Mario Testino, the famous photographer favoured by Princess Diana, has taken pictures of women around the world whose lives have been affected by HIV or Aids for a glossy new publication.
Women to Women: Positively Speaking contains the testimonies of ordinary women, such as Martha (left), who have either contracted the disease or been affected by it. The glamorous images taken for Marie Stopes International are intended to send out an affirming message. The launch of the book on World Aids day, today, is part of a collaboration between Marie Stopes and the fashion industry called Fashion Fights Aids, supported by American designer Kenneth Cole. A website has also been set up at www.fashionfightsaids.org, which will soon host an online auction of donated items.
