Charities can apply for grants of between £500 and £10,000 to support three-month projects from the People's Postcode Trust, which distributes funds raised through a postcode-based lottery game.
The funding is available for charities and community groups working on human rights issues and environmental projects, as well as those that prevent poverty and encourage community development and public participation in sport.
Registered charities can apply for up to £10,000 and other groups can apply for up to £2,000 from the trust, which has distributed more than £800,000 since it was set up in April this year.
A spokeswoman for the People's Postcode Trust said the total value of the grants was not yet clear. She said the trust welcomed applications for funding from "innovative" projects.
Groups based in England and Scotland can apply to the fund. The deadline for applications is 16 October.
