A charity poster campaign highlighting the fact that meningitis does not just affect children has been shortlisted for an advertising award. Adults Get it Too, designed by Target Marketing Direct for the Meningitis Trust, heralded a new direction for the charity. "We'd always been very safe in our ad campaigns," said Nicola Davies, communications manager at the trust. "We'd never gone for anything unusual like this before, but it has generated more positive letters from our supporters than any previous campaign." She added it was coincidence that the images were similar to the 'stolen youth' campaign run by Barnardo's. The trust, which launches a campaign focusing on its support services next week, was nominated in the public/government/charity category of the Cream Awards.
