Prince of hearts

Shoppers in west London did a double-take when Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles made an apparent public declaration of love outside the Fulham British Heart Foundation shop.

The scene was acted out by lookalikes Guy Ingle and Wendy Ellis a few days after the royal engagement was announced, in support of the foundation's Real Valentine Appeal. The charity invited people to write a romantic message to their loved one on a heart-shaped love note and stick it in their local BHF shop for a suggested donation of £1. Although its main focus will be around Valentine's Day, the campaign will run throughout the next three years.

It aims to raise £1m to fund more than 30 new heart nurses, who will care for up to 10,000 more patients each year.
