The charity Pro Arte has been struck off the Scottish charity register for being inactive after it failed to submit any accounts to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator for five years.
The charity, which has objects to develop public appreciation of the dramatic and operatic arts and to educate the public about them, last filed accounts for the financial year 2004/05, when its income was £3,995.
The OSCR’s report about its decision to remove the charity from the register says the charity’s principal contact had told the OSCR in 2009 that it had effectively been dormant for several years. It says further attempts by the OSCR to contact the charity had been unsuccessful.
Letters sent to the charity by recorded delivery were either signed for but not answered, or returned marked "refused", the report says.
