(RED) raises money to fight Aids in Africa by working with popular clothing companies such as Levi's and Gap to sell (RED)- branded merchandise.
The charity's profile, which can be viewed at myspace.com/joinred, has 627,515 ‘friends' - other MySpace users who have signed up to be kept informed about the charity. This puts it almost 25,000 ahead of its nearest rival, virtual band Gorillaz, which has 603,394 friends.
"I would recommend MySpace as a fundraising and marketing tool for anyone trying to grow a community," said Roz Hunt, partner manager at (RED) UK.
"But it is important to ensure that you have the resources to keep the space up to date and responsive."
