Register with commission online

Charities can now submit registration applications and governing documents electronically to the Charity Commission.

The new service is initially only for applicant charities using one of the 80 approved governing documents that the commission has approved. It will later be extended to all organisations.

The commission is aiming to reduce average registration time to five working days or less by the end of 2008 for those organisations applying online. The average registration time is currently 15 days for charities using an approved document.

“The Charity Commission is committed to making life easier for charities wherever we can,” said David Locke, the commission’s executive director for charity services.
