Ricky humour lent to Meningitis Trust

Frankincense and mirth Ricky Gervais has lent his inimitable brand of office humour to the Meningitis Trust, which has enlisted 50 celebrities to create original Christmas cards to be sold in an online auction over the festive period. The star of BBC2's The Office, and actors Sir Ian McKellen and Maureen Lipman, are among the most famous names to have designed cards for the campaign, which the trust hopes will raise £5,000. The auction began last week, but Gervais' card and others will be put up for auction on 1 December, with final bids a fortnight later to enable all cards to reach their destination by Christmas.
