RNIB makes swoop on Peabody for CEO

The RNIB has named the Peabody Trust's director of operations as its new chief executive.

Lesley-Anne Alexander will take up the post at the beginning of next year, succeeding Ian Bruce who is leaving the charity he has served as chief executive since 1983.

Before joining the Peabody Trust, Alexander was director of housing for the London Borough of Enfield. Her voluntary sector experience does not include working for a visual impairment charity.

Bruce will focus on his role as chairman of the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at City University.
