Ross slams Live 8 as 'patronising'

Presenter Jonathan Ross, who was the media anchor for Live 8, has described the concert as "patronising" and agreed it was wrong to exclude African musicians.

Ross made the comments in an interview with Gorillaz singer Damon Albarn on his BBC1 chat show last Friday night.

Albarn, who criticised the Live 8 event at the time, said: "What kind of message is being sent out when a concert is organised to raise awareness and the world doesn't see anyone from Africa there?"

Ross replied: "I agree with you ... It was at times very patronising."
