Site puts advice at the forefront

The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales has relaunched its website so that applicants have to read advice on grant applications before they can download the form to apply for grants.

The foundation, which supports small to medium-sized charities, many without professional fundraisers, discovered that one in three people downloading the application form from its old website did not download guidelines for applicants.

The new site, at, includes a walk-through application guide, which charities must click through before they reach the downloadable application form.

Louise Harley, head of communications at the foundation, said: "We want to make the application process straightforward by giving as much information as possible before the initial call to us, thus maximising charities' chances of being successful."
