Snapshot: Most admired

Jean-Michel Piedagnel (top left), executive director of Medecins Sans Frontieres UK, dedicated his award to murdered Care International Iraq director Margaret Hassan when he was presented with the trophy for Britain's Most Admired Charity at Third Sector's annual awards ceremony in Westminster last week. Most Admired Chief Executive went to Lord Victor Adebowale, head of the social care charity Turning Point, who received the award from Charity Commission chair Geraldine Peacock (top middle).

John Low, chief executive of the RNID, received the award of Most Innovative Charity (top right). HRH The Princess Royal was unable to be present to receive the award of Most Admired Celebrity Charity Champion, so Mike Aaronson, director general of her principal charity, Save the Children, received it on her behalf from Lord Heseltine, chairman of Third Sector parent company Haymarket Group (bottom left). Among nearly 100 guests were Fran Barlow of the Media Trust (bottom centre), and the awards ceremony was preceded by a seminar on challenges in charity leadership. Seminar panellists included Andrew Robinson, head of community development banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland, which sponsored the BMAC awards, and Simon Burne, chairman of the Institute of Fundraising (bottom right).
