The Awaredressers Summer Fair was held earlier this month in Barnet, North London, to raise awareness of the growing threat of HIV infection among the African Community. The Awaredressers is a network of local African businesses, whose founder members were hairdressers, which actively campaigns for awareness of HIV in the African community in the borough of Barnet. The annual summer fair, supported by Barnet Primary Health Care Trust this year, consisted of a five-a-side football tournament, funfair and talent competitions. Footballers John Fashanu (pictured left), Paul Davis (centre) and Ade Akinbiyi (right) attended the event.
