SNAPSHOT: Eastenders to East Africa ..

EastEnders to East Africa Michelle Collins visits an Oxfam project in Kenya that takes in homeless children off the streets of Nairobi. The former EastEnders star was there to publicise the Oxfam Pendekezo project, which helps street girls get counselling and pays their fees for primary education. The project is part of Oxfam's campaign to work towards helping girls in developing countries get equal access to education. Currently, over two-thirds of the 125 million children who are out of school are girls. Collins will lead a delegation of schoolchildren to 10 Downing Street today to deliver a "Big Book for Tony", a collection of letters and drawings by children from Britain and Africa, to the prime minister. The event is part of a Week of Action for the Global Education Campaign.
