The cast from West End musical Bombay Dreams held a fundraising day at the British Airways London Eye in aid of SightSavers earlier this month. Preeya Kalidas, who plays heroine Priya, and Raza Jaffrey, who plays her hero Akaash, along with four members of the chorus, took a symbolic flight in the Eye. The actors and actresses were blindfolded, encouraging people to imagine what it would be like to be unable to see the view and highlighting the fact that 80 per cent of blindness worldwide could be prevented or cured. The day raised more than £10,000 for Sight Savers through a 50p donation from every ticket sold and from street entertainers who donated their collections to the charity.
