SNAPSHOT: In the eye of the storm

A lone camp worker battles against a sandstorm after more than 200 Iraqi refugees evacuated their tents in the Ruweishid camp in Jordan. Strong winds overturned dozens of tents, leaving people to shelter in the camp's kitchen. "It was very violent and ripped the canvas off the hospital tent, so it was important for the refugees to leave and get to safety," said Brandon Pustejovsky, who is working with partner organisations of the aid agency Tearfund. No-one was hurt in the storm and the refugees returned to their tents the following day. Tearfund is also supporting partners in Baghdad and is providing food and blankets to Iraqi refugees in Syria.
