Jade and Kara Revill with Rus Henderson and the Russ Henderson Steel Band, who took part in the annual walk in the park for Diabetes UK last Sunday. The event, which has been touted as "a fun way to introduce gentle exercise into your daily life", kickstarted Diabetes Week. This year the charity, which has the Queen as its patron, has organised a total of 38 walks across the UK. The sponsored walks are anything from one-mile to six-miles long, although participants can do as much or as little as they like and can even bring a picnic. The Regent's Park event in London was lead by TV presenter Simon Biaggi and attracted more than 1,000 walkers on Sunday. Last year's event in Regent's Park raised £35,000.
