Sporting hero Gary Lineker was among the sports personalities on hand to help launch this year's Sport Relief campaign. The project, a collaboration between Comic Relief and BBC Sport, aims to use sporting activities to raise money for disadvantaged children. The campaign runs until 13 July and culminates in a night of sport, entertainment and fundraising on BBC1. Schools across the country will be encouraged to get involved in the scheme, and sports clubs across the country will be running events.

There will also be daily trails of Sport Relief activities leading up to a day dedicated to the campaign on Radio 5 Live. Other sports stars supporting the initiative include Sir Steve Redgrave, David Beckham and Lord Coe.
