Sport initiative to aid young people

The Prince's Trust is launching a fundraising and networking initiative to motivate disadvantaged young people through sport.

The Sport United Leadership Group will give young people access to sports events, clubs and sport-related work experience to improve their physical and social wellbeing and their employment prospects.

The Prince's Trust is inviting sport governing bodies, sponsors and manufacturers, and suppliers and retailers of sports equipment to join its existing network of supporters.

Each organisation will be asked to pay a membership fee of £10,000 or a patron fee of £25,000 to provide funds for the trust's work.

Martina Milburn, chief executive of the Prince's Trust, said: "With this funding, and the opportunities created by the Sport United Leadership Group, we can change thousands of young lives through sport."
