The Association of Children's Hospices has collected 7,000 signatures on a petition calling for more government funding, thanks to a partnership with The Sun.
The charity is raising awareness of the fact that children's hospices get less than 5 per cent of their funding from the Government.
The Sun has been endorsing the drive with an online campaign for the past two weeks, and is preparing to expand this support with an article in the newspaper. Readers can add their names to the petition online.
The charity's corporate partner, Somerfield, is also joining the campaign by introducing the petition at its stores.
A spokesman for the association said: "We are pleased with the way this three-way partnership is going."
