How many fundraisers are in your team?
There are 26 of us at our London centre, as well as volunteers and teams of door-to-door, street and telephone fundraisers working on our behalf across the UK.
What does the team do?
Over the past two years, we've built a fundraising team working across all disciplines, including direct marketing, retail, events, community, major donor, corporate and trust fundraising and supported by database and supporter care functions. Every day is different for all of us.
How much do you raise?
This year we're on course to raise at least £7m before legacies, up from £1.7m in 2010. Historically, legacies have accounted for 80 per cent of our income - but we've made great strides in redressing the balance and creating a sustainable funding base for our world famous home, which operated with a multi-million pound deficit in 2010.
What's in the pipeline?
We're busy preparing for our biggest-ever Christmas appeal and for our most important event of the year - our Collars and Coats gala ball in November.
What's it like in the office?
We're a positive and passionate bunch who embrace a culture of fast and furious working, so although it's a busy office it's also a huge amount of fun - we laugh a lot and eat a lot of cake. Best of all, we give respite in the office to a 'dog of the day', who provides laughter, joy and a constant reminder of the importance of our work.
