- How many fundraisers are in your team?
Dimensions fundraises through its charitable arm, Outreach 3 Way, based in Crawley, West Sussex. I am the only fundraising staff member and I work part-time with committed volunteers, who help at events, and with the support of the marketing and communications team.
- What does the team do?
Our fundraising programme is new and most of it is event-based. We are now looking at developing our trust fundraising and corporate partnerships. Funds raised help to maintain and develop the activities we run to support people with learning disabilities at our day centre, such as our annual pantomime and sporting programmes.
- How much do you raise?
We are on track to raise about £45,000 this year, most of which is through events such as charity dinners and sponsored sports challenges. This year we have been chosen as the mayor's charity in Crawley and we have a great initiative with Basepoint, a local company that match-funds events and sponsorship income.
- What's it like in the office?
It can be lonely as the sole fundraiser, but I work in an office next to one of our day centres, so it's easy to find inspiration. Whenever I get the chance, I go into the day centre and it is truly amazing to see what a difference our services make to the people we support. It allows me to put my job into perspective.
