- How many fundraisers are in your team?
There are six full-time, office-based fundraisers in the fundraising and commercial team. We also work closely with Youth Sport Direct, our trading company, on income-generating opportunities.
- What does the team do?
The team seeks a range of income sources, including our corporate partners - such as Bupa, Matalan, Openreach, Sainsbury's and Sky - grant-making trusts and foundations, and individual donors. We have just held a fundraising dinner at the Savoy hotel in London - this generated more than £200,000.
- How much do you raise?
We raise more than £4m a year and hope this will reach £5m by the end of 2013/14. Sixty-five per cent is generated through our corporate partnerships, 25 per cent from grants and 10 per cent from general fundraising and events.
- What's in the pipeline?
We're planning our 20th birthday celebration this year and Openreach employees are about to start a fundraising drive to raise money for sports equipment in schools.
- What's it like in the office?
It is energetic, friendly and positive, with all staff believing passionately in the power of sport to change young people's lives. The fundraising team is based in London with our policy and communications team, which enables us to ensure that planned fundraising activity is aligned with promotional support.
