Temporary chief executive at Samaritans

Catherine Johnstone, former interim chief executive of Capacitybuilders, to take over

The former interim chief executive of Capacitybuilders has been appointed the temporary head of Samaritans after the resignation of Dominic Rudd last month.

Catherine Johnstone joins the emotional support charity today on a six-month fixed-term contract after covering the top job at Capacitybuilders, the non-departmental government body that provides infrastructure support to the voluntary sector.

Johnstone was previously chief executive of rural community council Buckinghamshire Community Action and Crossroads Caring for Carers, a charity that provides support for full-time carers.

Rudd resigned at the beginning of February for personal reasons.
