The Clap for Our Carers initiative is among the finalists of the inaugural Third Sector Digital Awards.
The awards were launched in February before the coronavirus outbreak in the UK and recognise the transformational role digital plays in the charity and voluntary sector. However, they have been scaled back this year because the pandemic affected the number of entries.
The winners will be announced online on Wednesday 29 July.
The digital agency Creative Clinic has been shortlisted for its awareness-raising work on the Clap for Our Carers campaign, which encouraged people to clap on Thursday evenings for NHS staff and other key workers,
Other finalists this year include the children’s charity Barnardo’s for its Coronavirus Crisis Campaign, which was set up to raise funds to support vulnerable children and families during the pandemic. The digital fundraising campaign raised more than double its original target.
Farewill, a company that supports charities to run legacy fundraising campaigns, has also been shortlisted for its role in helping charities to use data to identify potential gifts in wills.
The entries were judged by: Victoria Buchanan, executive creative director at Tribal Worldwide London; Lara Burns, chief digital officer at the Scouts; Matt Collins, director of Platypus Digital; and John Stewart, director of ten4design. The chair of judges was Ravi Gurumurthy, chief executive of the innovation foundation Nesta.
