Third Sector Excellence Awards deadline extended by a week

Charities have until 15 June to submit entries

The deadline for entries for this year's Third Sector Excellence Awards has been extended until Monday 15 June.

Applications were due to close last week, but voluntary organisations have been given an extra seven days to submit their bids.

The black-tie awards, which will be presented at the Grosvenor House hotel in London on 24 September, give voluntary organisations and the people who work for them the chance to show their achievements from the past 12 months.

There are 25 categories, including Direct Marketing Campaign and Fundraising Event. There is also a category for Small Charity, Big Achiever.

Last year's winners included the Football Foundation and Broadway Homelessness and Support. Geraldine Peacock, former chair of the Charity Commission, won the Luke FitzHerbert Lifetime Achievement Award.
