In this episode of the Third Sector Podcast, features and analysis writer Rebecca Cooney and editor Emily Burt chat about the Flexible Working Group.
The initiative, which is by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, the charity leaders body Acevo and the executive search firm Starfish Search, aims to start a conversation about the flexible practices and cultures needed for truly inclusive workforces in the charity sector post-pandemic.
The group was sparked by a series of Third Sector blogs by the former Changing Faces chief executive Becky Hewitt, in which she wrote openly about her feelings of exhaustion and burnout during the pandemic.
Rebecca and Emily hear from Hewitt, now the chair of the working group, as well as Sarah Vibert, interim chief executive of NCVO, and Akiko Hart, chief executive of the National Survivor User Network, who is also involved with the group, about what they hope it will achieve.
This week's Good News Bulletin includes:
- The bizarre story of a cancelled charity raffle in Frome
- A woman who is using statues of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in her garden to raise money for charity
