In this episode of the Third Sector Podcast features and analysis writer Rebecca Cooney and editor Emily Burt find out more about a charter designed to combat racism in charities dealing with violence against women and girls.

The charter, which was published earlier this week by the Anti-Racism in VAWG Working Group, argues there is a white supremacist working culture within the VAWG sector, which bars organisations from being truly inclusive and democratic in decision-making.

To combat this, the charter calls for proactive anti-racist work, equality of representation and a change in the approach to funding to ensure organisations led by black and minoritised people are not facing additional barriers.

Rebecca speaks to Gisela Valle, chief executive of the Latin American Women’s Rights Service, and the anti-racism campaigner and Labour Oxford City Councillor Shaista Aziz, who have been involved in creating the charter, to find out more.

This week's Good News Bulletin is a London Marathon bonanza, with special guest, marathon runner and Third Sector news editor Andy Ricketts. Andy joins Emily and Rebecca to discuss the experience of running the marathon, as well as the amount raised so far and some of the records that were broken this weekend.
