This week, Third Sector's features and analysis writer Rebecca Cooney and editor Emily Burt find out more about an initiative that aims to start a conversation about what volunteering should look like in 10 years' time.
The Vision for Volunteering project is a collaboration between the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, the local infrastructure body Navca, the Association of Volunteer Managers, Sport England and Volunteering Matters.
When it lauched earlier this month, it called for a future in which “volunteering is further ingrained in the collective psyche, is part of everyone’s life, and in which it’s always easy to find ways to make a difference”, and set out key themes for the sector to focus on in order to make that happen.
Rebecca chats to Maddy Desforges, chief executive of Navca, to find out more about the project, and how charities can get involved.
More information about the project can be found here.
This week's Good News Bulletin includes:
- A Texas woman who bought a marble bust in a charity shop, only to discover it was a 2,000 year old Roman antique
- A phone card worth 43p which raised $1m for a charity in Egypt
